Kaspersky is not registering in the Windows Defender Security Center but it is working. The Windows Defender antivirus is not running. See if Kaspersky has a setting to register in Windows 10 to show it is running. Other than that you are fine if Kaspersky real time protection is active. I have a windows 8.1 system on a new laptop. It came with windows defender,but also a free disc with Kaspersky internet security. Am presently running the Kaspersky (free for a year).

I've obtained Kaspersky KIS 2016 installed on Get10 and have got changed (or tried to change) Windows Defender off via Group Policy. It also says it'h bee switched off. TL/DR, you dont know what antivirus to select. Both Defense and Kapersky are mediocre antivirus applications, but Microsoft does have an advantage in updated virus definitions and supported operating techniques. As it comes with Windows already, it seems too great to become real. Kapersky is certainly overpriced and clunky. Not really meaning to bash Kapersky, but they got nothing at all on Microsoft in getting brand spanking brand-new viruses.

Actually though I mainly use AVG (which is definitely excellent), Windows Defender appears like a even more promising option when it comes to more thorough scans, and a simple interface so actually your 'grandmother' can do it. As for 'Home windows Defensive player Enabled', Windows doesn'capital t let you deactivate the self-protection user interface totally. It's simply for your protection and peace of thoughts.

Truthfully, I wouldn't select either. Malwarebytes Anti-Malware Free of charge and AVG Free of charge are just good for me.
